The building occupies a corner site that must respond simultaneously to two street elevations and to the varying heights of the neighbouring buildings. Along its sides, it picks up their alignments, stepping up gradually to form its highest volume.
The corner is resolved as a fold whose dominant position in the city evokes the old bastion of the Roman city wall that once stood on the site.
